‘The New York Yankees’ to sign veteran reliever for two years

New York, NY – The New York Times ( NY ) – The Yankees have signed veteran reliever Fernando Salas to a two-year contract, the team announced today.

Salas, 36, has pitched in 12 games for the Yankees since being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on July 8.

He is 3-4 with a 3.65 ERA in 12 starts.

Salass is coming off a season where he had a 3-6 record with a 4.38 ERA in 33 appearances (25 starts).

He allowed six earned runs in six innings of work, including two homers, and struck out nine.

Salabs had a 1.69 ERA in six appearances (two starts) with the Dodgers last season.

He has appeared in 11 games for Arizona since being acquired from the Mets on August 25, 2018.
